Behavior Serves a Purpose

Get help identifying the why, what is an acceptable replacement behavior, design a plan, act

Behavior always serves a purpose for your dog. I will help you identify what need a specific behavior is fulfilling and identify acceptable alternative behaviors to work towards. Undesired behaviors must be replaced, they don’t fade away as long as the need remains.

  • What purpose does the undesirable behavior fulfill for your dog
  • What would you like your dog to do instead and still meet that need
  • What triggers the undesired behavior
  • How much work are you willing to invest in changing this behavior
  • Do you want to train a new behavior or just manage the current situation
  • Does your dog need veterinary intervention – pain management, injury, illness
